16 year
old Coma ends abruptly
For more than 16
years, Patsy White Bull lay on a hospital bed in a state
of coma. This American Indian was in coma induced by a
blood clot during the birth of her last child. Doctors
felt there was lottle hope for Patsy, 42, but were proved
wrong, on 21 December, when the nursing aides changing
her sheets were astonished to be told, "Don't do
that.".
Patsy, whose nick name
as a young women was "Happi", was celebrated
for her beauty and vibrancy. She modelled for Lee Marmon,
perhaps the most famous Native American photographer in
the world.
Patsy needs physical
and speech therapy to rebuild her wasted muscles and
vocal cords.
